About Us

Our Centre
Yea & District Children’s Centre was established in 2012, after being a successful standalone Kinder since 1954. An increasing need for long day care in the area was the reason for the much needed change. The responsibility for the management of the Centre has been delegated to Uniting (Victoria and Tasmania) Ltd.
Within our building, we offer a separate 4 year old kinder program; a separate 3 year old kinder program and a separate multi-aged long day care program for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old. We offer before kinder care, in the long day care room, for both 3 and 4 year old kinder children and half day care for kinder children after kinder, in the long day care room. We also offer limited long day care for school aged children during school term holidays.
The different programs share the yard which is a child’s adventure land with a dry creek bed, that has the option of running water; a massive roofed sand pit; a mud pit and kitchen; swings; established trees that give lots of shade in summer; permanent play structures; a bike track and an abundance of equipment to suit. There is a lot of opportunity for curiosity, discovery and imagination, physical and social growth among the children. The educators support and extend the children’s all round development during their play.
The educators from all programs work together as a team to give children the best care and education possible.
